Max/MSP Part 2

Ashley John Pigford will teach an introduction to the graphical programming environment Max/MSP, (www.cycling74.com). Max, an application that allows users to create their own software, can be combined with its sister application, MSP, and electronic hardware to create multi-media projects involving sound, installation, performance, data processing and much more. Students will learn how to make basic patches (programs) and how to interface Max/MSP with sensors and a micro-controller. No prior experience with Max or computer programming is required, but basic computer and digital media production skills are highly recommended. The course will be taught in the Macintosh computing environment, however the software and hardware are PC-capatable. Students are required to provide their own personal laptop computer. A 30-day trial version of Max/MSP is available from the manufacturer for the term of the course.

To attend this session you must register for the first session on April 14.
